So here we are and so far so good right. As this year progresses, I hope to convince you that the coming of December 2012, is a significant opportunity to transform and evolve. The only thing which is to be destroyed is the individual ego. The outcome of this auspicious date creates more than a sense of change and with it a greater knowing of oneness.

This new moon is in the sign of Aquarius who loves to push edges and fly in his own orbit, literally! In the Calendar of the Moon, this first New Moon of the Year 2012 marks the Chinese New Year of the Black Water Dragon. Symbolically, this dragon rules water-based weather and phenomena. Depending on transits I sense there will be quite a lot taking place this year. In Chinese philosophy, the Dragon is a symbol of the East and the color black belongs to the north.

Traditionally the dragon is a symbol of potent and auspicious powers in the far east unlike its western cousins. In China, it is a great honor to be compared to a dragon, think Bruce Lee! I find it ever so interesting that this Dragon year coincides with the Quetzalcoatl predictions of the Maya.

Looking at the notable eclipses of this year, we see the shadow of the May 20, eclipse originating in Asia moving from the northeast, coming across the pacific rim and ending up on the border of the Texas panhandle and New Mexico. Let's all keep a watch on that! Those of you who have been following my Astrological musings since the turn of the century recall my warnings of water and fire for the year 2012. In addition my spot prediction for the Tsunami of December 4, 2004. Could it be that the Dragon energy this year rides on the eclipses? Is this what I have been sensing in the Pacific Rim all these years? We can only wait and watch in order to find out.

Those of you thinking I was nuts to move to Florida due to hurricane possibility, especially those of you residing in the north east United States, have actually had your own taste this last year. If you want to come visit in the Spring to get out of the west, let me know and I will find places for you to stay. We will get together and send love to the great mother to be gentle when she shivers under the shadow of this eclipse.

Enough of my brief peek into the year ahead. I promise I will continue to enlighten you as time goes on but for now, let's look at this month and this lunation. For those of you living here in EST the lunation occurs in the wee hours January 23. For those of you on the west coast, it late in the evening on the 22nd. If you are in other corners of the world, kindly do the conversion here.

This New Moon is in the broad thinking sign of Aquarius. Get your tie dye out and celebrate the unusual side of your personality. Aquarian energy always gives us a sense of our connection to the greater good of all. Place this in your daily meditation. Aquarius urges us to think and act outside the box. There is a tug-of-war going on for many of you as we experience a tight opposition between expansive Jupiter and contractive Saturn, which square the lunar event. Thank goodness grandfather Uranus, ruler of Aquarius is cruising through Aires. This creates a jolting, favorable and supportive sextile position to this event.

To sooth these phenomena, I highly recommend what we call in Yoga: Sadhana, which is personal practice. This includes: Pranayama, Yoga Asana, specific physical and mental diet which includes meditation. There are many offering products and services to help you on your way.

The way to use this: I recommend the loose powder. Place a pinch in your right hand. Set an intention. Chant OM three times directly into the powder. Just a little more than 17 hours later we hit a speed-bump when Mars turns retrograde. January 27 to 28, depending on your location, we all seem to be a little more clever, so mind your children, especially your teenagers if you have them! This is due to witty Mercury sailing into the sign of Aquarius. There he joins in on the party already in progress in this gregarious sign which is in celebration of Neptune's last days here as he prepares for his homing coming in his home sign of Pisces on February 3. He remains here for the next 13 years. There is that number again!

Hermitic Neptune has cruised patiently for 164 Earth years to return home. Each day on Neptune takes 19.1 Earth hours. A year on Neptune takes 164.8 Earth years; it takes almost 165 Earth years for Neptune to orbit the sun once. Neptune was discovered in 1846. Do you see the math pattern here in the numerology? Since Neptune was discovered, he has completed just a little more than a single revolution around the sun. Folks, there is a great clue to the mystery of life here. It is up to you, to figure out the meaning!

I suspect the fish logos stuck on the back end of cars will take off and fly home. February 7, sturdy Saturn begins his annual retrograde in diplomatic Libra. This keeps him in the last third of the scale's territory through June 25, when he begins to move forward once again. If you had a situation during the last few months needing a reevaluation and rehabilitation, here is your opportunity.

Just hours later the same day we have a Full Moon in Leo. Hearts are open and egos crave attention when the fires of our emotions are stoked with unnecessary adolescent behavior. Feelings bubble up and seem more out of control than they really are. Think of a mirror in which the objects appear larger. Take care to not back into anything!

Hours later Venus charges into Aires where she throws arrows of restlessness at your heart chakra. This causes you to want what you want, when you want it and when is now! Remind yourself to slow down and maybe put your credit cards on ice for a while.

Mercury drifts into Pisces February 13 causing you to lose your bearings and go heinously off course. This is not so good for negotiations and firm agreements but it is fabulous for artists and creative people. If you have not tried to exercise your intuitive mind, this is a great opportunity to consult a psychic. Hint, hint!

Kudos to those of you still thinking clearly and seeing the future! But, you too will likely be swept off in the undertow of Pisces when the Sun drifts into the home of the two fishes February 18. Do me a favor. Don't plan anything big or life changing until Apollo is in Aires again on March 20. Quit your whining and just sit tight. You will thank me later.

Are you making resolutions? The New Moon in Capricorn has that effect on us. The sea goat symbolizes a connection between our emotions represented by the fish-like tail and the upper reaches of our spirituality symbolized by the goat-like front legs and the mountain he climbs up. Furthermore, the sea goat is a reminder to stay in the heart as he warns us not to drag our hearts behind us up the enormous mountains of challenge we create and construct.

Normally the Capricorn New Moon heralds the holidays and the turn of the year with the stern ruling of Saturn. This year is not like the other as it is strongly effected in a tight square to Uranus the grandfather of rainbows and psychedelia. At the same time, this lunation is in conjunction with Pluto the cosmic alchemist of destruction and change. As if this is not enough to try to wrap our brains around, Luna is fired up in a sweet trine preparing to receive the positive vibrations of Jupiter who goes direct tomorrow in luscious Taurus. If you have been feeling a bit stalled or have experienced a run of seemingly challenging fate, it is about to take a turn for the better. All of this has inspired me to give each of you a symbol for the new year inspired by the 60s and 70s. It is my intention to provide you with a positive inspiration for your transition into 2012.

Speaking of the new year, here it is, the date we have all been waiting for. Right now as I watch people scurry around buying gifts and refining their plans for the holidays, I must say, it seems a lot more calm than I thought it would be a few years back. The general vibe is a good one. Of course the real proof will come next year on the Winter Solstice but I must say, as 2012 draws near, I feel a sense of calm and a great deal of love. The questions you my dear readers ask me have dissipated regarding whether I think 2012 is the end of the world, which I have never prescribed to. I will tell you this, I am seeing much better behavior and I am feeling a great deal more love in general.

And so, as a result of all of this good vibration being received, I must say this is my conclusion. There is indeed an ending but it is of behavior and belief systems. New paradigms are unfolding. Then go pull your tie-dye out of the back of your closet, put some beads on and go outside and hug a tree! Get down on your knees and tell the Earth Mother Goddess how grateful you are to be here having this human experience! Make music! Dance! Sing! Draw! This is what I wish for you in 2012. Express yourself. Do you feel like you need help discovering your talent path? Make an appointment and I will read your Astrology chart to reveal the answers. I was standing in line ast Best Buy the other day buying a much needed cord for my iPod. While in line, I watched a large movie screen with video playing of Lady Gaga. I give her kudos for self expression and color.

Now back to the resolutions. Resolve to eat less meat, play in nature more and to do selfless things for others! Make plans to do nothing and watch the sun rise and set in the same day. Breathe! Make the promise to yourself that each and every day you will enjoy being here! Say yes more often and no less! Accept others and their beliefs without reaction or getting tangled in emotions. We are much more alike than we believe. Less than 0.1% of our DNA makes us different from everyone else.

We can all take some much needed time off to rest, relax and regroup until January 7, when Mercury slows down to step cautiously into the sturdy sign of Capricorn. The tricky part is he has to deal with the wacky powers of Uranus which are inflamed in a grand gesture by Jupiter. Communication begins to stack up like bricks in a wall. Stay focused on constructing clear and sturdy ideas. Stick to the truth.

The following day the Moon is full in Cancer. Some see this as awe-inspiring. If you have a propensity for drama, stay inside and quiet through this event on January 9. People are sure to act freaky as are your pets. Those of you who already experience a great deal of fluctuation in decision making and duality in your personalities are sure to put on quite a display. Don't say I didn't warn you. Right now would be a really good time to mark this day in red ink in your calendar and plan for quiet time.

I really like how this year is beginning. Our first month has a double Venus day! Friday the 13th is just this! This is a very sacred and powerful day for love and lush behavior. The cherry on this sundae is that Venus is in her exaltation swimming in the divine waters of the sign Pisces! It is a perfect day to take off and have an experience with someone you love. This is how the day got a bad rap. The ancient cultures saw it as a day to eat, drink and be merry. Cavorting was frowned upon by state and church on work days so, the party got canceled and the day was stamped evil. It figures. My advice is to ignore this and party on! Eat chocolate and go to a spa. Stay in bed late and indulge yourself. Do what you do that makes you feel love!

January 20, is the day when the Sun enters the crystal clear stratosphere of Aquarius. Daydreams and visions lead us into the newness of being. The unity and acceptance of the Uranian ruled water bearer reminds us that we are all one. We are the human family, interconnected and significantly balanced as a unit.

His new year promises to be one of many changes and new beginnings for all of us. It is the gateway to the new age of whom we are and what we all came here to do. The turn of the year is always heralded by the Saturn ruled Capricorn New Moon. The good news is that the great giant Jupiter is turning direct the day after this lunation. Just this alone is a reason to be grateful for being alive and experiencing this amazing time in the progression of this planet and our collective consciousness. May we all find a way to truly feel love and know that we are truly blessed.

2012: The changes which began a few months back continue to shake your tree. Try to hold on and by all means, try not to fall out on your head! The new relationships are strong life lesson teachers so honor them. The only way to have it all is to be with people who value their independence as much as you. The sudden changes and ideas you are compelled to follow and answer to, drive you onward. Look back to 2009 for clues when you become confused. Comb through that year to find missing links. Go easy this year. You do not have the capacity to push edges and limits without strong repercussions. OK, I have warned you. I know you are headstrong and this is futile, but you can't knock me for trying. If you find yourself feeling fear, remember this is the opposite of love which is the only emotion worth having. The conflicting ideas you sense are very real, but you must make firm decisions now and stick with them. When you get confused try listening to the Beatles song "The Long and Winding Road." This should help you feel safe in the journey to yourself. If you have the opportunity for a training or a course to better your skills you must take it on. This is no time to be lazy. Get of your bum and get to work!
