The New Moon at 17 degrees Leo has the signature of a chemist. Add to mix, the alchemical power of Pluto and consider this more of a mad scientist. Pluto melts your foundations this month. That’s right, some of what you thought was steady and fast is literally dissolving under your feet! The epicenter of this event is later in the month on August 21. Don’t get worried and jump around senselessly, Hades (which is the other name for Pluto) does not respond well to such foolishness. If the icy master chooses to aim the torches of his transformative arm at you, the best thing to do is to thaw willingly and melt into newness.This is usually where most people have the hardest time. Letting go is very tricky for the masses. It has been my observation that people really freak out in the energy of change, unless they have a lot of Plutonic and Scorpionic energy in their charts. Even then, they can spend a lifetime fighting it. Struggle doesn’t work. It just tightens the grip of the situation on you, through your fears. I recall the little woven thumb puzzle from China I had, when I was child. I would place my two thumbs into it and try to get out. When I struggled, it tightened the grip and made it impossible. But, when relaxed and could breathe easy, the puzzle just released, effortlessly. This is a great lesson in the power of relaxation and no doubt a brilliant invention to teach children the power of being present. I know it worked for me.
A favored technique many use to disguise challenging situations, is to redress them. Have you ever noticed that after you surrender your post, the one that you were sure was toxic for you, a new one comes long in different clothing? Mysteriously, once you get to know it, you find it unfolds and possesses the same attributes as the one you discarded! This shows up in people, jobs, housing and all corners of life. August 13, Uranus drifts into Pisces bringing the potential discovery of unusual solutions to all messes both personal and global. The second of three Jupiter-Saturn oppositions occurs August 16. Saturn is just in the first degree of Libra prospecting the new territory. Job changes need time and a great deal of forethought. Keep things real and trudge along at a steady pace. Spurts from the Aries induced flames on Jupiter’s back could cause erratic behavior. If this crazy behavior is you, put yourself in time out! If it is coming from another, give them time out. Keep things cool. Fireballs burn up precious production.
Mercury steps cautiously backward in a retrograde cycle visiting the exacting realm of Virgo on August 20. All tiny mistakes have the potential of creating unfortunate mishaps of gigantic proportion. Triple check your work and give a pause prior to speaking. Virgo’s influence on her ruling planet is that of daily health and tasks. If it is time to change your health habits, get on with it!
The final of three squares between our heavy hitters happens on August 21. This is between restrictive Saturn and obsessive Pluto. Notorious for crashing and rebuilding in this particular angle of ninety degrees, I am giving Pluto the winning flag in this match due to his placement in Saturn-ruled Capricorn. Take a cue from the seagoat. Strive for a higher level of spirit while maintaining a connection to the stirring emotional state brewing in your depths.
