Speaking of goddess energy, Venus saunters into Scorpio early in the day just after the Moon and Sun join in the sky, making a notable statement for this lunar month. The New Moon at 17 degrees Leo has the signature of a chemist. Add to mix, the alchemical power of Pluto and consider this more of a mad scientist. Pluto melts your foundations this month. That’s right, some of what you thought was steady and fast is literally dissolving under your feet! The epicenter of this event is later in the month on August 21. Don’t get worried and jump around senselessly, Hades (which is the other name for Pluto) does not respond well to such foolishness. If the icy master chooses to aim the torches of his transformative arm at you, the best thing to do is to thaw willingly and melt into newness.

This is usually where most people have the hardest time. Letting go is very tricky for the masses. It has been my observation that people really freak out in the energy of change, unless they have a lot of Plutonic and Scorpionic energy in their charts. Even then, they can spend a lifetime fighting it. Struggle doesn’t work.  It just tightens the grip of the situation on you, through your fears. I recall the little woven thumb puzzle from China I had, when I was child. I would place my two thumbs into it and try to get out. When I struggled, it tightened the grip and made it impossible. But, when  relaxed and could breathe easy, the puzzle just released, effortlessly. This is a great lesson in the power of relaxation and no doubt a brilliant invention to teach children the power of being present. I know it worked for me.
 
A favored technique many use to disguise challenging situations, is to redress them. Have you ever noticed that after you surrender your post, the one that you were sure was toxic for you, a new one comes long in different clothing? Mysteriously, once you get to know it, you find it unfolds and possesses the same attributes as the one you discarded! This shows up in people, jobs, housing and all corners of life. I  know you know exactly what I am talking about!

This is because life is just a smidgen of the soul’s journey, not the entire route. This body is temporary and we are here to learn and change habits that reach much further back than childhood. A big part of the lesson is learning to accept, adapt and accommodate. These are the greatest actions which we came here to practice. When you feel surges of amor and attraction, be the witness. Just say “Oh, and there’s an interesting feeling” rather than diving into an embrace and making a decision you are sure to regret later. Stay mindful of how our actions affect others. Fanatical antics are spurred on which cause you to float into fantasy.
 
August 13, Uranus drifts into Pisces bringing the potential discovery of unusual solutions to all messes both personal and global. Hopefully this means we find a way to save the resources which have been trampled on recently. Use your imagination to find the best solutions rather than lolling around in slapdash situations.

The second of three Jupiter-Saturn oppositions occurs August 16. Saturn is just in the first degree of Libra prospecting the new territory. Job changes need time and a great deal of forethought. Keep things real and trudge along at a steady pace. Spurts from the Aries induced flames on Jupiter’s back could cause erratic behavior. If this crazy behavior is you, put yourself in time out! If it is coming from another, give them time out. Keep things cool. Fireballs burn up precious production.

Mercury steps cautiously backward in a retrograde cycle visiting the exacting realm of Virgo on August 20. All tiny mistakes have the potential of creating unfortunate mishaps of gigantic proportion. Triple check your work and give a pause prior to speaking. Virgo’s influence on her ruling planet is that of daily health and tasks. If it is time to change your health habits, get on with it!

The final of three squares between our heavy hitters happens on August 21. This is between restrictive Saturn and obsessive Pluto. Notorious for crashing and rebuilding in this particular angle of ninety degrees, I am giving Pluto the winning flag in this match due to his placement in Saturn-ruled Capricorn. Take a cue from the seagoat. Strive for a higher level of spirit while maintaining a connection to the stirring emotional state brewing in your depths.

August 22 the Sun tiptoes daintily into Virgo, signaling the seasonal change which is about to occur. The keen-sighted virgin, delights in picking apart ego flaws. Don’t let it get you down. Accept yourself, what you are and what you have created.

The impressionable Pisces Full Moon wants to float you out of reality and into your fantasy world. This is on August 24. Don’t go there. Remember the alchemist is just waiting to burn everything up and turn it into something completely different. Hold your ground and be sure to keep your health in the number one priority position.

This Solar Eclipse is sure to open your third eye. This is an energetic area which is located in the middle of your forehead just above your eyebrows on the center line of your nose. The third eye is the doorway to your super-consciousness. It is your radio receiver for cosmic intelligence and all information which is, ever was and ever will be. I think we all need to wake up and open all three of our eyes about the current situation with oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico. If we all find a way to peek out through this part of ourselves, I believe we will begin to function better as a group. It is integral that we begin to place the emphases on "we" rather then "us" and "them." This way we all take responsibility for what is going on here on this blue rock!

To experience a Solar Eclipse is to have the opportunity to dissolve the ego. The Sun in astrology is our ego and the Moon our psyche. Our western culture has us believing that the ego is who we are. How foolish this thought is. The ego tricks us into thinking that we are our exteriors and that we are separate from one another. This is a tremendous misconception.

Eastern philosophies teach about the body being like a robe which is removed and left behind in the soul’s journey of perfecting itself on the course to enlightenment. It is the depth of the psyche which remains intact, not the physical body. Truly learning and trusting the process of letting go is a practice which does not come so easy to most of us. Only in death do some people finally release their grip on this reality. Fortunately there are ways to achieve this without completely giving up, like Yoga, its practice of meditation and breath-work.

There are times in our lives when the ego is indeed important. If you are a performer on stage with no ego, you melt into a helpless pool, like a jellyfish out of water. Ego comes in handy. The key is knowing where the rheostat control is and how much level is appropriate when adjusting it. Yoga is a great way to understand this.

Many people look at yogis thinking it is all about being bendy and stretchy. This is a huge misconception. The goal of the yogi is to perfect the mind and achieve oneness through the dissolution of the ego. Like the message of the Solar Eclipse it gives insight and guidance to show us how to do exactly this. As 2012 approaches I am questioned almost daily on my thoughts regarding earth changes and possible disaster. Though intellectually I know that it is a count, the end of an era, with what I see going on with respects to nature, I find it hard some days to be positive. Yes it is an ending. No, I do not believe the world is coming to an end. What I do see, is a need to change the way we are and behave. Therefor it is an end to life as we know it. May we all raise our consciousness and wake up!

Many of you are spontaneously waking up to new ways of viewing the world. This lunation spurs you on, causing you to dive into the waters of your heartfelt feelings. The event of a Solar Eclipse represents the moment of emotions overtaking the ego. What happens in the sky physically is that the light of the Sun is temporarily blocked by the Moon, thus producing a shadow upon the Earth. Imagine your ego being temporarily blocked by the deep messages of your psyche. What would it be telling you?

The day before this eclipse Mercury moved into Leo. Flutter is worth revisiting as this jolts the talkative trickster side of us into having a propensity for blurting. While playful Hermes hangs out here, your tendency to flirt and flit around is amplified by the fiery force of Leo’s energy.

July 11 in addition to the energy of this Solar Eclipse, Venus steps shyly into Virgo. Though her stride begins with caution, once in the realm of the discerning goddess, she blossoms into the powerful divinity she is. Her ability to see clearly what she wants and let others know her feelings, comes tumbling off your lips.

The wise healer Chiron moves gallops backwards into Aquarius having been in the ocean of Pisces for a bit.

　

Saturn floats in a most surreal way into Libra July 22. What changed in structure during his time in Virgo, now appears before the judge and awaits assignment to be balanced. If your foundation was recently shaken and destroyed, during this next six months as the current eclipse pattern plays out, you find yourself moving in an entirely new direction. Let it happen and go with it. Keep the mind focused on creating balance, beauty and harmony.

The Sun comes home to Leo on July 22 as well. Extra fire energy is a good time to be careful with matches and heated words. Though the ego had a rest during the eclipse, the added energy can fan the flames. Be mindful to be gentle and aware.

July 23 Jupiter begins his retrograde cycle, which helps to slow things down. For those of you who don’t like quick changes relax and know the feelings only last for a day. Libra is the represented by the scales of justice. We can breathe deeply knowing that mother earth is sitting before us holding the gavel.

The Full Moon inspires us to soar into our higher mind on July 25 in the intuitive sign of Aquarius. Luna is trine Mars and Saturn which signals earth shaking events. This is Gaia hitting the judge’s stand hard with her hammer. The spontaneity of Uranus toned down a bit by his conjunction to Jupiter’s retrograde pulls on the mind, confusing it as to which way to go. We as a group must learn to function in harmony. Secrets are bound to be exposed.

Mercury embarks on a visit to his discerning realm of Virgo on July 27. While here we have the opportunity to really look at the little particles of speech and our daily habits. Virgo assists and supports clean up of our thoughts. Use your journal and this opportunity to move ahead in steady steps.

The final fifth opposition of Saturn and Uranus occurs on July 26. This began in November of 2008. It is quite obvious that the news will be ringing about the president of the USA as well as unusual methods to handle legal situations and issues. Let’s put some prayers on the Gulf and hope a solution is at hand.

Mars floats into Libra July 30 fanning the flames of our hearts. Switching gears is in the wind. The warrior feels uneasy in the sign of diplomacy. The charging ram in all of us needs to chill out. It is a good idea to make plans for cooling things to do to ease the frustration.

　

Punctuating this month, Venus moves home to Libra August 8. Here the goddess can take some time out to primp and preen. This could usher a sudden desire for a new wardrobe look! Once her self image is feeling balanced take the good vibes and share with the people around you. If the make over is in your relationships, use diplomacy to gently dismantle the situation so as not to detonate emotions.

As if this is not enough, following the hypersensitive Lunar Eclipse, we are still under the dramatic influence of Cancerian energy. So what do we do now? That’s a really good question! Let’s all follow the wisdom of one of my favorite Zen Masters: Winnie the Pooh. His philosophy is "Don't underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering." July 5, begins the annual retrograde cycle of Uranus, the planet which when moving forward, gets us to think outside the box. When he moves backwards, we are likely to feel blocked. This gives us opportunity to recognize that the illusion of stagnation is held in our minds. Use the introspective energy to get deep within your psyche to evaluate the true structure of your current  situation.

July 9, when Mercury blazes into the Lion’s den, a wall of communication comes tumbling out of your mouth. The feeling of being pulled in all directions creates a  propensity toward drama. May 20, Apollo, the Sun god enters the fan flaming energy of Gemini. The twins activate your thinking. Take care not to blurt out untruths in an effort to dazzle newcomers to your circle. Reign in your energy a little and allow yourself to show from the inside. You are a person,  not a piece of real-estate! Stop pitching so hard! Save your ideas up for next week when you can put them to good use.

Be a shooting star and blast your glory May 27 when Luna in wild and free Sagittarius is full with the light of the Sun. Stick to the facts
and be real. The poetic urge to wander is the centaurs way. Take care not to jump the fence and run prematurely. Allow yourself room to fantasize but be sure to stay real and grounded in your commitments.  Refuse the lure to debate if you feel your temperature rising. May 27 Uranus catapults into Aries and we begin an 11-week journey into the future. It takes the rainbow wizard 84 years to move through the twelve signs. Most of you have never felt him charge into the fiery  zone of the warrior. Here he prepares us for the future with a little taste. On August 13 he will slip back into the dream of Pisces. Then,  on March 1, 2011 he will settle into the district of sparks and force.

So, watch, note, prepare and by all means keep the peace! You have a chance to regain your footing on May 30 when Saturn moves
station direct. The watchful father has been back stepping through the tail end of Virgo since late January. Now, and I really mean now, you can begin to get all those future plans going! I know that you have tried and maybe even given up. Well, sometimes you just have to let it go and let it be and then it works, you’ll see!

Neptune turns retrograde quite close to Chiron on May 31. Underlying health issues could crop up. It is always a good thing to stay on top of maintenance of the body. Speaking of flames, Mars finally slows down and coasts into Virgo on June 6, after an extra long eight month tour in Leo. This gives the warrior time to polish his sword instead of stabbing at things haphazardly. Put his new found energy to good use and be of service to others who can use a jolt of useful energy.

When Jupiter conjoins Uranus in Aries June 8, explosions are bound to happen. All that wildfire with the unexpected twists provided from Uranus are surely creating natural and emotional upheavals. Check the stove and be careful with matches!

Luna's fiery side is felt this month when she enters the sign of the Ram. What do you need to do? Charge up your battery and get ready to to spend some energy during this New Moon in Aries.

The ram loves to put his head down and barrel toward his desires. This can lead to headaches! Be more like this conscious sheep. Hold your head up high and take in your surroundings. Read on dear ones, to find out what is coming your way this month. Words to the wise: Take your time and exercise your patience!

It is good to take yourself away from your daily schedule and do something completely different from your norm. A change of scene and a switch in our daily routine help us to appreciate what we have in our lives. The cleansing effect is rejuvenating. The act of change supports us in finding whom we really are. Upon returning we notice the things we love about what we do. We find a new found appreciation for the people, places and things that surround us.

 

When the Sun reaches Aries in the Tropical calendar it is the zero point, the beginning of the cycle. Cosmically we now pass go and collect a pouch of new found energy. Aries, ruled by Mars is fire and force. Projects which need more push, and relationships which need more attention finally get the energy they need to thrive. Though this happened last month it is worth the review. The emotions are now receiving the same new found jolt of dynamic juice when the New Moon occurs in Aries April 14.

 

At the moment of the New Moon, Mercury conjoins Venus in Taurus. The trickster and the love goddess roll around in luxury in the velvety land of the Bull. Use this to calm your words and your thoughts. Explain yourself in delicious short phrases and make ready for Mercury to slip into his coming retrograde. Let these two help you remember to slow down. Taking time helps you to get the words right. Rushing makes it more difficult to express what you really want. Jupiter sextile Luna and Aphrodite, gives you a much needed hand to reach out to for help. Talking too much makes it hard to follow your own conversation. Neptune is sextile the New Moon causes excessive daydreaming. Keep your eye on the road, literally. Watch everything and stay on your toes! Pallas opposed Venus and Mercury forces words out of your mouth. Your opinion lashes out as you feel the need to express what you want and how you see things going. Vesta in a square to Venus creates an obstacle making it difficult to get what you want. Mars conjunct Hygeia influences matters of wellness and of the blood. Be careful! No running with sharp objects and by all means leave more time when traveling so you can take the quieter route. These points change things for each of us. This all depends on what they activate in your birth chart.

 

Mercury stations and turns Retrograde April 18 in Taurus. This makes time slow way down which is a good thing. Those who lost an hour on the Daylight savings switch now begin to finally feel caught up. The prankster is square to Mars as he begins this reevaluation period. Use the quiet of your mind rather than the force of your words while combing over situations. Take time to think everything out. What you are frustrated with now is probably not going to be resolved until after April 24 when the Moon reaches its perigee. This is the point in the Moon's orbit is nearest to Earth. The saving grace is that the Moon is trine to Mercury creating moments of brilliance to spill forth from your lips by way of your heart chakra. Reach into your feelings to aid in sorting this out.

 

April 20 Chiron cruises into Pisces. The healing power of Chiron in the spiritual sign of the two fishes is urging society to find new and alternative answers to the issue of healthcare. In addition to the reform within the US government’s view of the subject, we are due to see alternative methods becoming more mainstream. Will hospitals have massage therapists? This could happen. Chiron’s natural route through our solar system takes him to the far outreaches of uncommon Uranus and in as close as the practical path of Saturn. Uranus loves to bless the masses with an extraordinary array of ideas.  We all know it is long over due that our attitude turns to healing rather than money making when health is the topic. This energetic signpost is just what the doctor ordered to get us on the road to wellville! Though it may take some time to really get this all in motion, every little step in the right direction is a good thing.      

 

Venus floats into the dualistic nature of Gemini April 25 and there are bound to be oddities at hand. Careful to flip through all of the choices and to sort them out. When choosing and making decisions, take your time so you are not going back and forth to the store making exchanges. Hold all letters for at least 24 hours prior to hitting the send button!

 

The Scorpio Full Moon occurs at 8:18 A.M. EDT April 28, 2010. Venus is quincunx Pluto which puts a great deal of stress on personal relationships. If you had been slipping down a slippery slope, then thank goodness Saturn is trine Venus bringing the stability you need to set things right. Jupiter opposite Saturn pushes you to do what you want in a big way. Look around and check the idea before you place it in play. You must make the decision to do what is right. Remind yourself  “All things in moderation.”  Mars is square to the Moon and Mercury which may bring the need to place yourself in a timeout. Give yourself room to fully look at situations before you ram into them! 

 

The Moon reaches apogee May 6, 2010. It is easier to cool down heated emotions brought on by Luna’s opposition to Mars when she is farthest from Earth. If health was a concern at the time of the New Moon, the condition is worsened if you ignore it now. The body is a sacred vessel. Treat it as such.

 

Mercury stations and turns direct in Taurus May 11. If all cards have been played well this month, you stand to gain a great deal with the confidence of Saturn in a trine. The bottom line is to keep it cool in conversations and under your collar this month. The sweetly spectral sign of Pisces hosts this month's New Moon. Mercury and Uranus float nearby in a tight conjunction giving spark to words and effervescence to thoughts and communications. The Guru Jupiter trails slightly behind, also in Pisces, choosing to stay in his cave and meditate. Perhaps this is what you need to do?

Immerse yourself in the luxury of the sacred and swim in the energy of  this New Moon in Pisces. The two fishes tethered together by their tails, reason with us to weigh things out and choose wisely. Read on dear ones to find what is coming to you this month!

Pisces, the tethered pair of fishes hosts this month’s languid lunation. Though the moon goddess would love to loose herself in a cosmic Jacuzzi of dreams and dance, she finds herself staring Saturn,  right in the face. “You want to color outside the lines?” questions Saturn,  “Get back to work and clean up when you are done!” But, you feel lazy and want to listen to music, Saturn says “Pay attention! Get
back to work!” You want to gaze out the window and write a poem, Saturn asks “What will that get you?”        

Don’t take this the wrong way. I am an advocate of creativity. But this month it is important to take care of your responsibilities first. Ignoring important obligations and necessary tasks, crumbles the ground under your feet. When making decisions take care to check both sides of
the coin.

Conjoining this month’s new moon are two wild ones: Uranus and Mercury. Spontaneity, changes of direction and overwhelm are written in between the lines of your to do list. These are sure to throw you a curve ball.

If you are dealing with health issues that involve the blood you may find that recent or a soon to be revealed new discovery, leads you in a much needed change of direction. Mars the ruler of blood and Ceres the goddess of what you need are joining forces, shaking things up in a square helping to bring you closer to what you really need.

Wackiness peaks on March 17, when Uranus is in exact conjunction and combust the Sun. For those of you on EST this happens in the wee hours of the morning. Should you feel fueled from a good night’s sleep or have inspiration from a dream, be careful with your words. As the day progresses and Mercury races into Aries while trining the Sun and Mars in Leo you could burn bridges.

Blurting happens when the trickster roars like a lion, so let’s hope you are able to keep it on the positive during your lunch time. For
those in other time zones, please calculate accordingly and be equally aware! No matter what time of day this happens for you, take care. When you awaken from your food coma and find fiery words riffling from your mouth, it will be too late. So, know this can be avoided by eating light all day to avoid mood swings and sugar dives!

The Vernal equinox occurs at 1:32 P.M. EDT March 20. Budding ideas and new beginnings spring into action. Careful with your choices because the next day on March 21, Saturn appears to oppose the Sun in the sky. This is an excellent time to observe the ringed one. The message he is bringing is to concentrate on truth, honesty and integrity. Get all your chores done and say yes to the requests of your elders.

The Moon is Full in Libra on March 29 at 10:25 P.M. EDT. The scales remind you to weigh out all issues carefully. This is easier than you think due to Mars at aphelion. The point in the orbit of Mars when he is farthest from the Sun. This cools the heat under your collar and brings options for relaxed negotiations, rather than lashing confrontations. Shift happens whether you are ready or not, with Pluto

in Capricorn squaring the lunar event. At the same time, Mars at 2 degrees Leo squares Venus at 27 degrees Aries. Though both are fire signs, we must look closely at the math to see the square. Tongues are bound to fork and flames are sparked and ready to be thrown. Keep your emotional extinguisher close at hand. Best to stay in and keep cool rather than go out and get in the molten river of energy bound to be flowing. Those of you in safety and rescue work should be prepared for a crazy night! Plan relaxing activities and don’t take risks!

The steam and smoke clear when Venus saunters into sensual Taurus March 31. Yummy sumptuous delights await you. Relief is here. Be sure to say yes to the healthy choices offered. It is easy to get seduced by shiny objects and silky selections when Venus visits her bullish region. Just say no and choose to invest in that which brings good things to you, your body and those around you.

Mercury follows close behind joining the magnetic mistress in the unhurried realm of Taurus. The ability to think and process may
seemingly be sluggish. This is really an opportunity to downshift and smell the roses. Stop pushing so hard and do nice things for yourself and others.

April 6, Pluto in Capricorn stations to begin his five-month retrograde cycle. Stick with your program. Let dreams and inspirations gather in your unconscious mind. There is no need to take action. Be like a mountain and remain in the stillness of your vision. Buy a journal.

Begin to collect your mysterious visions. You can sort them out and put them into action in the future.Saturn, still retrograde, reaches back into Virgo April 8 with the Moon at apogee, her point in orbit farthest from Earth. Use your eye for detail when cleaning up old missed decay. This assures success in the coming months.

Goddess Venus, exalted in the sign of Pisces,  wraps her universal arms around us in her out of sign conjunction. Her presence in the deeply spiritual realm of Pisces is no doubt what inspired me to make a pilgrimage to my ashram! Neptune,
ruler of the two fishes and the wounded healer Chiron connects Aphrodite to this lunar event. Read on dear ones to find what is coming to you this month!

The New Moon
Luna floats through our cosmic sky with Chiron and Neptune urging our attention toward the spiritual sides of our nature. Take my example and let the responsibilities take a back seat to your spiritual practices! The moon forms a square formed to Pallas Athena which fuels words and expressive thoughts. Juno forms a sextile as well which can cause a need to leave some of what you do behind. The desire now is for higher ground as you find tenacious drive to express your insights and visions.     

Adding to this need are Mercury in Aquarius in opposition to Mars in Leo while in trine to Saturn in Libra. So much of the air element is involved here that you are probably having a hard time keeping grounded. Pluto, the dark alchemist in Capricorn sextiles Venus. This causes you to lay down your robes of illusion in such a way that you commit yourself for life to a cause or a lover. Move through any feelings of separation by joining forces with like-minded groups.

Get out of your cave and into the human soup on February 17 when Chiron and Neptune form an exact conjunction! If you have been thinking in the back of your mind to volunteer or give, the answer is: YES! Go for it!

The door to your dreamy visions creaks open February 18 when the Sun floats into the watery realm of Pisces. Take care to pick up all of the pebbles of information as you float down the path of cognition in the coming days which lead to the Full Moon.

We begin to tell a life changing story the week leading up to the Full Moon in Virgo February 28. This is the profound unfolding of our true path. Should your choices lean toward self indulgence, there is no doubt Apollo will weld his wrath upon you. Be more careful than normal in public spaces and while traveling during this Full Moon. There is sure to be a great deal of chaos and drama stirring!

Take care of all detailed and specific information prior to March 1, when Mercury slips into Pisces. The waters of your mind cloud up and the ability to articulate gets muddied up. Realize others are having a trying time expressing themselves. Exercise patience and listen in-between words, especially to the music of the mind.

Venus has you losing interest and hotly pursuing new ground on March 7 when she blasts into Aries while in trine to the warrior’s ruler Mars. Be mindful of the consequences of your actions. Once you have made a move, there will be no opportunity to turn back.

Projects which have been held up are now moving full steam ahead when Mars turns direct March 10. If you did not participate in the new year resolution of joining a gym or beginning a workout regime, this is your opportunity to find an outlet for the blast of energy you are experiencing.

To get things started let's retrograde back a couple days! On January 13, Saturn went station for his upcoming retrograde. This caused the steady and sure-footed goat within us all  to dive back into his more liquid realm.

Structure has the potential to be swept away. Go to see the dentist, chiropractor or finance consultant. If reconstruction is needed then say yes to the positive changes and recommendations offered. This is not time to struggle against authority. Smile sweetly, use politeness and give in!

Get real about what you are doing and what you want. The Solar Annular Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn will have it no other way! If the ground beneath your feet is rumbling at work, take it as a sign that this is the time to create a change. Fortune smiles upon us from the goddess Venus who conjoins the lunar event. If you ask for words from a friend, get ready for them to change you life for good. Nothing is spared in this event.

January 30, the Full Moon in Leo gives us the opportunity to act the greater good. The trick is to resist the urge toward self-centeredness. Leo loves to gaze at his own reflection in the mirror. So, use this as an opportunity to look deep within yourself. Mars is in a spicy conjunction to Luna causing possible inflammation and flare up. Due to the two involved, this comes through emotionally driven circumstances.
